The crowds weren’t anything like peak summer Chicago Air and Water Show size. But more than a few neighborhood residents wandered out of their shutdown habitats to enjoy a brief tribute for the US Navy Blue Angels flight squad.

Billed as a tribute to health care workers during the coronavirus pandemic, the fly-over criss-crossed Chicago before turning over Juneway Beach and roaring down the lakefront just before noon Tuesday.

Although the parks were busy, most people appeared to be observing social distancing and wearing masks. And most headed back to their homes and apartments after the  brief display.

Here’s what the Blue angels looked like from Juneway Park.
