An unidentified man was killed in a crash early Monday morning on North Sheridan Road, near the Loyola campus turn, leaving morning traffic snarled.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, and no further information has been released by the Police Department.
Sheridan Road was closed between Devon and Rosemont, backing up rush hour traffic for blocks.
According to the Chicago Tribune, CTA buses, which had to be rerouted, experienced delays until almost 9 a.m.
