State health officials have released data on deaths at long term care facilities, including numbers for homes in Rogers Park and Edgewater, as well as other nearby neighborhoods.
The data shows at least 186 long-term care facilities in 22 counties reporting at least one case. In all, at least 1,860 cases can be tied to nursing homes, with 286 deaths – nearly a fourth of all coronavirus deaths reported in Illinois.
Birchwood Plaza, 1426 W. Birchwood in Rogers Park, reported seven cases and two deaths from COVID-19. Admiral at the Lake, 929 W. Foster in Edgewater, reported two cases and one death.
