Janitor charged in Edgewater apartment thefts

An Edgewater building’s janitor has been arrested on charges that he entered apartments and stole items from residents. Items reportedly stolen include:

  • $7,000 in cash
  • A Rolex watch
  • Diamond rings

The suspect, 30-year-old Eriberto Orozco, is an Irving Park resident who worked in the in the apartment building on the 6100 block of Sheridan Road.

Police are accusing him of stealing from at least six apartments in this complex since October of last year.

Orozco’s LinkedIn profile also stated that he had worked as a CTA bus driver for the past two years.

Orozco was also arrested in April 2014 for possession of cocaine, according to police documents.

Orozco is now being held by police on a $10,000 deposit bond.
