Rogers Park’s Glenwood Sunday Market returns for its’ 10th season starting June 2.
Sponsored by the Rogers Park Business Alliance, it will operate every Sunday through Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Glenwood Avenue, between Morse and Lunt.
The market will feature farmers and food artisans including Bennison’s Bakery, Hardin’s Family Farm, and Lyons Fruit Farm.
It’s also home to the Food Access Program, which aims to combat food insecurity. A new initiative this year, Giving Sunday, has also been launched, according to a statement from the RPBA. Once each month, shoppers at the market will be asked to donate to support the Food Access Program, which gives shoppers using the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program a matching grant that doubles their buying power at the market.
Also supporting the Food Access Network will be this year’s Secret Garden Gala, at the Hampton Inn Rooftop Terrace, 1209 W. Albion, on Saturday, May 18. You can sign up and purchase tickets for the event here.
According to the RPBA, more than 40,000 shoppers annually visit the Glenwood Sunday Market, which is composed entirely of farmers and food artisans from within 200 miles of Rogers Park.
The June 30 market will move to Glenwood, between Morse and Farwell, to accomodate the Pride Festival that day.
