The Chinese Mutual Aid Association (CMAA) will be having their second annual Dim Sum and Then Some, the Uptown 5k on June 2nd at 8 a.m.
The price to register is $45, the top three males and top three females will receive awards. The race will start at 1030 W. Argyle St.
The CMMA will be using the profit from the race towards providing services to Chicago’s immigrant and refugee communities.
“The Dim Sum and Then Some” is the only 5k taking place throughout Uptown and Chicago. Runners, Joggers, walkers, and even crawlers are all encouraged to join in and have fun.
Participants will be cheered on with entertainment throughout the race course, including CMAA’s Lion dancers. Every participant will receive their own Dim Sum box, compliments of one of Uptown’s famous restaurants, Furuma. More free goodies will be given throughout the day.
Participants are also encouraged to use public transportation on race day as street parking is limited.
