May’s warm weather means bike-riders will make their way back onto Chicago’s streets. Last Thursday, the Chicago Department of Transportation with Alderman Harry Osterman announced the expansion of the Lake Shore Drive bike trail into Edgewater.
Pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists all need to pay more attention while driving, especially at crosswalks, school zones and in other high traffic areas. It’s up to all of us to make a difference. #BikeMonth https://t.co/kLturRr7sj

The expansion will help create a bikeway network for the Edgewater community by elongating the trail that currently ends at Ardmore, allowing for safer bike commutes and easier navigation from Lakeshore Drive.
The new routes are a welcomed addition to the Edgewater neighborhood as the new trail will bring new attention to local businesses, parks, encourage physical activity, and reduce pollution.
