Members of Loyola’s non-tenured track (NTT) faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences continued to promote their cause during Loyola Weekend, a two-day event during which Loyola welcomes prospective students who are still deciding where to go to college in the fall.

The union, represented by Services Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 73, has been negotiating contracts and wages with the university since June of 2016.  The members held a one-day strike last Wednesday.

On Friday, April 6, they held a town hall meeting to give an update on the negations between the union and the university.

Union members also passed out flyers in front of Damen Student Center on Saturday as prospective students and their families toured the university.

Sophomore Erika Oller feels that the issues raised by the union are important.

“I hope that they will act in favor and give adjunct professors a huge raise,” Oller says.
