We braved the cold and snow on a Monday in January to document what life is like on 6000 North Broadway in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood.

Tents like this one (spotted where Broadway meets Granville) help the homeless fight the harsh Chicago weather traditions. The nearest shelters are Cornerstone Community Outreach and Sarah’s Circle in Uptown, and the Night Ministry in Ravenswood.

The Growling Rabbit is a popular places to escape the cold and eat. Be sure to grab a coffee and a bombwich the next time you’re there.
